Like a broken record
That song our hearts used to
sing
No longer plays in the jukebox
of our minds
Hearts that were once
intertwined
Find the strings cut apart
Like a baby separated at birth
From its mother’s umbilical
cord
Is anyone ever truly to blame
When what once felt right
Goes wrong
When two people that were
seemingly
Headed in the same direction
Reach that fork in the road
And the decision is made
To take separate paths
All things truly happen for a
reason
And although you were in my
life for a season
We take the lessons learned
and move forward
Hearts searching for their

Praying that next time
They will find their final
resting places
